JanusHDL 0.6.0 (preview) - linux-aarch64
==========================================

JanusHDL analyzes, elaborates and runs VHDL designs and their testbenches:
VHDL-1993, 2002, 2008 and 2019, with PSL. The standard packages (std, ieee)
are built in; nothing else needs to be installed.

This is a preview build for evaluation. Please do not redistribute it.

Getting started
---------------

1. Unzip anywhere, for example to C:\Tools\janushdl.
2. Add the bin folder to your PATH, or run the programs from it directly:

bin\jhdl.exe the command line: analyze, elaborate and run
bin\jhdlw.exe the window: waveforms, design browser, sources
bin\jhdl-lsp.exe the language server, for editors (started by them)

3. Run a testbench:

     jhdl counter_tb.vhd counter.vhd --top counter_tb

or from a project file, which lists the files in analysis order:

     # proj.f
     library mylib
     src/counter.vhd
     tb/counter_tb.vhd

     jhdl -f proj.f --top mylib.counter_tb --stop-time 10us --wave run.jhw

Open the waveform file with jhdlw run.jhw (or by double-clicking it
after associating .jhw files with bin\jhdlw.exe).

4. Faster repeated runs: --cache proj.cache keeps the analysis and reuses it
when no source changed. --jit on compiles what it can to native code.

  jhdl --help lists every option.

Notes for this preview
----------------------

- The command line program still prints its development name in messages
and in --help; it is the same program.
- Native code (--jit on) is new and off by default.
- Report problems, with the smallest design that shows them, to the address
  you received this preview from.
